You can learn Mokuhanga - Traditional Japanese Printmaking..

Our workshops are the place you can learn the skills of mokuhanga in a friendly supportive atmosphere. From beginners who have never printed before, through to professional artists, you can learn at your own level.

Learn traditional and contemporary Japanese printmaking techniques to produce multi-colour, multi-block prints entirely in water based media. Learn how to use traditional tools and equipment, which are all available for use in our workshops.

Since starting in 2014, more than a thousand people of all ages have taken our mokuhanga workshops throughout Australia and in New Zealand (and Singapore in 2018!). We have run successful workshops for a range of organisations and individuals, such as Art Societies, Community Print Studios, Universities, Schools, Galleries and Private individuals and also from our home studio. We look forward to having you take part in our future workshops.

Now based from scenic Karuizawa in Nagano, Japan, we run a variety of learning options here and also regularly hold workshops in a variety of Australian States and New Zealand.

Student's Thoughts

Thank you for a wonderful workshop! One of those experiences that will stay with me and changes the way I see things.
